How Do Indian Ladies Style Their Hair?

Indian women have always been considered some of the most beautiful in the world. They have won several international beauty pageants at least five times since the 1990's, and they have charmed us all with the parts they played in famous Bollywood movies.
Aishwarya Rai is one of these amazing women, who began by winning one of these competitions, and then became famous worldwide as an international actress, starring in American movies, too. She is not just a beautiful person, but she is also smart enough to value that in an artistic way. Her hairstyle is representative for Indian ladies, at least for the new generations. She has become a model to follow for all the young girls of her country.

What she has in common with the traditional style is her preference for long hair. But the fact that she allows it to flow free down her shoulders is less conformist. She loves to wear it parted sideways either very straight or slightly wavy. When she became Miss World she conquered everyone with a very sophisticated updo, but generally she likes to pull back only a few strands to reveal the perfect features of her face, or let it loose.
Most Indian women have long locks because they are blessed with a gene which gave them strong hair. This kind of hair is able to face the challenges of being long, meaning the constant need of brushing, untangling, pulling it back or styling it in various ways. Moreover it leaves the impression that it doesn't need any kind of hair care products. The color is generally black or brown. We often admire it in movies or in song videos.
There is another side of Indian hairstyling which seems to loose ground in modern times. The traditional style implies various buns or twists which are practical ways of wearing your hair while you need to take care of the household or to do your job. Brides always display amazing up-dos, all the shine and the color of this exotic world bringing its contribution in the most important day of their lives to make them look amazing. The hair is adorned with traditional jewelry and covered with a beautiful veil.
